You can use it to research people such as roommates. But most schools don't allow roommate changes until after school starts. So, if you find something bad, you might still have to meet that person. And social networking aren't always true to the person they are supposed to portray, so you could have misjudged. But, overall, social networking can be beneficial if used in the right way.
